Qliphoth
Final boss · Chapter 5
Qliphoth is the campaign's final boss, fought in successive forms across chapters 5 and 6. The game files carry three tunings for it: a 6,500 HP first form, a 10,000 HP second form supported by 100 HP tentacles, and a 17,000 HP final form, the largest health pool in the game.
The first fight is an arena-control check. It cracks the floor, erupts roots, drops a laser through the tree, and punishes leaving the fight zone with a dedicated out-of-bounds attack, so the answer to every pattern has to be found inside the circle.
The second form turns the temple into a bullet-hell stage: a rotating windmill spiral that also pushes you, bullets spawning around the arena's perimeter, explosions on a diamond grid, and a satellite beam from above. Partway through, a fox-driven sweep hits everything outside marked safe spots; finding the spot is the mechanic. The heroes' afterimages guard the temple around these fights as minibosses.
The final form abandons fairness for spectacle. Giant darkness hands strike from the edges, one-flash slashes cross the arena, laser and circle barrages repeat in counts rather than single casts, obelisk summoners feed adds into the fight, and its last pattern drops whole regions of the floor away, with more regions falling in co-op.
First form: cracks open across the arena and erupt. The floor is the boss as much as the body is.
First form: a laser fired down through the tree, tracking toward you until it ends.
First form: stepping outside the fight zone triggers a dedicated area attack. There is no kiting this fight from the edge.
Second form: a rotating spiral of bullets that pushes outward while it turns. Move with the rotation, not against it.
Second form: bullets spawn along the arena's rim at random intervals and fly inward, so the edge is never a rest position.
Second form: explosions detonate across a diamond-shaped grid of cells. The safe cells are readable a beat ahead.
Second form: a beam strikes from above on a satellite marker, layered over whatever ground pattern is running.
Second form: a sweep that hits the entire arena except marked safe spots. Everything else pauses; find the spot.
Final form: enormous hands strike in from the left and right edges while target attacks chase you through the middle.
Final form: instant slashes cross the arena in counted volleys, with extra slashes tacked onto the end of a volley.
Final form: pillars erupt in inner and outer rings around it, alternating which band of the arena is lethal.
Final form's last pattern: whole regions of the floor drop away, and the pattern scales up in co-op.
Qliphoth's Temple guards its final fights with afterimages of the three heroes, each a miniboss with its own monster page.
Hard mode runs its own version of the escape sequence after the second-form fight, and the route out of the chapter 5 encounter differs between normal and hard. In hard mode every boss also draws from the pool of 10 modifiers listed on the bosses page, from flat HP and defense gains to elemental resists and ignoring your defense or evasion.
Defeating Qliphoth for the first time adds these to the item pool:
